A SCIENCE OF THE PERSON
The New Psychology

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

What has been revealed in our phenomenlogical research using The System for Identifying Motivated Abilities (SIMA®) is that each person has been endowed with a Motivational Pattern of Giftedness containing 5 Parts and some 25 to 35 ingredients of a gifted nature designed to achieve one particular outcome or purpose.

Part 1- A Central Motivational Thrust or Outcome the person is motivated to achieve. This section consists of 30 items.

Part 2 - A Group of Motivated Abilities the person is motivated to use. This section consists of 85 items organized under exact powers indigenous to each person.

Part 3 - Certain Subject Matter and Mechanisms the person is motivated to work with or through. This section consists of 40 items.

Part 4 - Situational Circumstances of motivational significance. This section consists of 62 items.

Part 5 - Particular Way of Operating With Others. This section consists of 34 items plus 22 modifiers.

THE DYNAMICS
  • Predictive: The Pattern describes future attempted behavior or performance in any job/role.
  • Organic: The Pattern functions regardless of whether an individual is aware of it.
  • Stable: The Pattern remains fundamentally the same throughout life.
  • Purposive: The Pattern drives toward a unique, desired purpose or payoff.
  • Irrepressible:The Pattern constantly seeks expression.
  • Potent: Can be developed within its parameters to fulfill aspirations or dreams.
  • Systemic: Each element enables and constrains all the other elements.
  • Amoral: The Pattern can and will be used for good and evil.
  • Dynamic: It describes the motivated behavior of a person.
  • Innate: The Pattern is inborn and inheres in the nature of each person.
  • Holistic: The Pattern describes the whole person.
  • Useful: It contains practical strengths of value to those served.
  • Affective: Emotional responses and feelings are triggered and colored by the Pattern.
  • Powerful: Precocious abilities inhere in the Pattern.
  • Refractive: Cannot be changed by environmental influences.
  • Modal: Influences dress, relationships, style of living, communications, and social behavior.
THE POWER

Because SIMA accesses heart and mind ( passion and power)….it can define the one way available for the organization to productively manage the person which is the same and only way that the person can experience meaningful effort and a high level of personal excellence…. simultaneously providing a data base which can answer any question about the past, present or future work performance of the person critical to resolving conflict, operating problems, team assignments, daily performance issues and promotional potential.
